EPSRC CHEMISTRY PROGRAM National Crystallography Service NCS Secure Services Guide Secure NCS Server Access Access to the Secure NCS Server requires extra security measures to be taken in order to protect potentially sensitive information and results. A digitally signed browser certificate is sent to users by the NCS which is installed into the users internet browser which, along with a conventional password, will permit that NCS user, and ONLY that NCS user, access to the Secure NCS Server and subsequent facilities. A detailed, step-by-step tutorial of the browser certificate installation procedure has been prepared to assist users in gaining access to the secure services. The procedure can be found here. Once your browser certificate is installed you are ready to access the secure services. A brief tutorial of the actual log-in procedure itself can be found here. Sample Status Service Users are encouraged to access the Sample Status Service to monitor the progress of their sample through the NCS. The service will also act as a user accessible repository of all information, data and files generated by the NCS which are stored on the users behalf for access/viewing at any time.
